When I was a kid, I loved going to the playground and taking endless turns on the merry-go-round. I liked the way it felt to be at the center of the vortex and have everything around me become a blur. There was an odd freedom in the spinning – almost like flying.
Meditation is a little that way. When you are able to sink into your body and let go of your mind, all the things that seemed important before become a blur. Time ceases to be important, and your spirit is free to fly.
You might say that meditation is like a playground for your consciousness.
