Marvelous, Mucky, Artistic MUD

by | May 14, 2012

When I was a kid I loved mud. I had no idea how smart I was until I research, wrote and illustrated an article on MUD as an adult.

Did you know there is more bio-diversity in a handful of healthy estuary mud than the whole Amazon forest?

Tell your kids: mud is waaaay more creative than any video game – which may be why it was God’s substrate of choice for creating man. (Women,of course were created far more elegantly.)

You may have thought that sticky, smelly black stuff you notice in the Bay at low tide was disgusting, but it plays a very important part in our food chain. Hopefully, but the end of this article, you’ll have a much greater appreciation for the primordial ooze.     Marvelous MUD Story
