Ancestral Bath

It is our daily activities that hold the essence of our culture. We pass on the richness of our heritage to our children through stories and routines that give them their comfortable place in the world.

The photographer, Carlton Ward, originally captured the image of a child’s bath while he was traveling in Gabon. I was so inspired by this simple interaction that I wondered about the deeper message between the young mother and her offspring. As the water ran from her bucket, it was almost as if the love of generations was flowing over the child’s head.

As we become more conscious of our daily movements, we see that little is accidental. Energy ebbs and flows with our intentions, and we are the ones who chose if that energy is love or fear.
