Balance Mandala

As any orthopedist will tell you, our feet were not designed to walk on artificial stuff like asphalt and concrete.  They like the real thing.

When we get away from the concrete, we find living things under our feet – some as big as beetles and earthworms, other incredibly small, like microbacteria – a mass of fecundity that staggers the imagination, if we only knew it was there.

Think of going barefoot as a way of worshiping Gaia, the ancient Greek goddess.  Think of a living planet, full of life-energy that soaks through your toes and brings you joy.  So go barefoot today.  Touch the Mother with your toes, and say, “Hello, I’m here!”  She’ll be happier for it.  And so will your feet.
