Mermaid Tales

Remember your school definitions?

A mammal is a warm-blooded higher vertebrate that nourishes its young with milk secreted by mammary glands and has skin usually covered with hair. Well-known marine mammals include whales, dolphins, manatees and uhhh… a certain kind of marine human known as a mermaid.

Once upon a time people thought that was the truth. Funny how what we think is true changes over time.

Now we believe that the early sailors who swear they saw mermaids were really seeing cute manatees.  It would take a lot of rum to believe that, but OK.

Me – I prefer to live my life with a bit of mystery. I think we’re all happier when we admit there are some things we’ll never know.
